Playing Music – USB Player/iPod

Use your voice to browse and select music on your iPod or music player. You can even ask SYNC™ to play songs by name.

Make sure:

· Your device is plugged in to the USB port and the index upload complete

· You say names and titles exactly as they’re listed on your device

 
  1. Press the Voice button and say “USB,” or “USB” if more than one device is connected.
  2. SYNC™ will confirm and ask for a command. Say any of the following:
    – “Play <previous / next> track”
    – “Play album / genre / playlist <name>”
    – “Pause” / “Play”
    – “Repeat” / “Repeat off”
    – “Shuffle” / “Shuffle off”
    – “Similar music” (Plays other tracks in the same genre or category)
    – “What is playing?”

Keep your comfort levels just the way you like them with a few simple commands.

 
  1. Press the Voice button and say “Climate.”
  2. SYNC™ will confirm and ask for a command. Say any of the following:

Keep your eyes on the road and let SYNC™ read-out incoming text messages. It even understands common emoticons and abbreviations.

Make Sure:

• Your phone is compatible and paired with SYNC™

  1. Press the Voice button and say “Climate.”
  2. SYNC™ will confirm and ask for a command. Say any of the following:
  • “Climate ” (Turns-off climate control or restores original settings)
  • “Climate temperature degrees”
  • “Warmer” / “Cooler”
  • “AC ”
  • “Defrost ”

Sending a preset text reply

Use voice commands to reply to text messages from a choice of 15 preset messages.

Make Sure:

• Your phone is compatible and paired with SYNC™

 
  1. When you want to reply, press the Voice button and say, “Reply to text message.”
  2. Use the Arrow buttons to scroll through a list of preset messages on the touchscreen or LCD screen (if applicable).
  3. SYNC™ will ask you to confirm your selection. Say, “Yes,” “No,” or “Cancel.”

How to download software updates to a computer

Locate the SYNC™ Updates section and click Request Download to send your request to SYNC™ Updates Centre.

Request successful window will pop up, if not, go back to Slide 1 and Request Download again. We will send a notification to your email address when the package is ready to download.

After the file is ready, return to the SYNC™ updates section and click Start Download.

Note: Please do not download this file directly to your USB drive!
•If your browser prompts you to do so, choose to “Save” the file to your Desktop or a similar location on your computer’s hard drive.

• Keep your USB nearby. You’ll need to use it soon.

After reading the SYNC™ Device End User License Agreement, click I Agree to confirm.

Once the download is completed, locate the zip*file that should now be saved to your computer’s hard drive.

• You may need to navigate manually to the location to which you saved the file in step 3. (ex. ”Desktop”)

TIP: If you did not specify a location for this in Step 3, check for the .zip file in your computer’s “Downloads” or “My documents” folder. The file may have been saved to one of those folders by default.
